A man has been arrested after a ‘domestic incident’ in Westbury.
At least seven police officers attended Uffington Place at around 8pm on Saturday (9 May).
Wiltshire Police confirmed that they were responding to a domestic incident.
At the scene a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of assault of an emergency worker and common assault.
In custody, having admitted his crimes, he was given an adult caution.
In the UK, an adult caution is a formal warning given by the police to someone who has admitted committing a criminal offence.
It is an alternative to prosecution and can only be issued if there is sufficient evidence and the offender agrees to accept it.
Cautions are used to deal with low-level offences proportionately, helping to avoid court proceedings while still recording the offence on a person’s criminal record.
