A man’s been airlifted to hospital after his car collided with a parked lorry in Westbury.
Emergency services, including critical care medics travelling in an air ambulance, were called to the scene on West Wilts Trading Estate at around 10.30am this morning.
The driver of the white BMW which crashed into the stationary lorry, a local man in his 20s, was seriously injured and was airlifted by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
There was no-one else travelling in the car and no-one in the lorry at the time of the collision.
PC Peter Williamson, from Wiltshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating how this vehicle ended up colliding with this parked truck on what is a straight stretch of road in broad daylight.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen a white BMW in the area just before this incident to come forward; perhaps there was something unusual about it or the way it was being driven.
“We’d also like anyone who may have dash-cam footage of this vehicle to contact us.”
