A man who assaulted two Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) has avoided jail.
51-year-old John Davis was arrested in Wingfield Road, Trowbridge, on 7 October following an incident in which PCSOs Gilmour and Obern were injured.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates Court last Thursday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker and using threatening, abusive, insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Davis, of Biss Meadow, avoided a prison sentence. He was ordered to undertake 160 hours of unpaid work – 80 hours for each assault.
He was also told to pay £50.00 compensation to each PCSO, £95.00 to victim services and pay Crown Prosecution Service costs of £85.00.
