A male ‘with knife wounds’ has been rushed to hospital after an incident in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Union Row in Old Town shortly before 6.30am this morning (Saturday).
A male was found to have sustained serious injuries and was bleeding heavily. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
On social media, one person claimed “there has been a stabbing around the back of Morrisons” with staff left cleaning up blood from the rear door.
According to Wiltshire Police, the incident was mental health-related – indicating that the wounds were self-inflicted.
An ambulance operations officer remained parked at the location at 8am, while police vehicles were spotted driving away from the area.
A force spokesperson said: “We responded to reports of a medical incident following a mental health episode in Old Town, Swindon just before 6.30am on Saturday morning.
“The male has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
