There were early morning delays and a wave of angry motorists in Devizes today, after traffic lights in the Potterne Road area became stuck on red.
The traffic signals problem is thought to have started at around 8.15am.
Despite the lights being stuck on red for only around ten minutes, traffic soon built up and it took around an hour to clear the backlog, while workers were hurled abuse.
According to witnesses, many motorists chose to risk running the faulty traffic lights.
