A major search is underway near Devizes for a missing 12-year-old this afternoon.
Police officers, working with Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) volunteers, are conducting a search operation in the Little Cheverell area.
The National Police Air Service helicopter is en-route from Bournemouth. It’s expected to arrive over the town by around 4.45pm.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to reports of a 12-year-old child believed to have gone missing in the West Lavington area shortly after 2pm.”
At present, the force has not issued a description or photograph of the missing child but says it may “appeal directly for media for support in due course”.
UPDATE 5.35PM: Wiltshire Police says “the child has been found safe”.
