UPDATE: Motorcyclist dies in A350 crossroads crash as police launch probe
A major road in Wiltshire is closed following a serious crash involving a motorbike.
Emergency services were called to the A350 on West Ashton crossroads at around 9pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 17 December).
A motorcyclist and a car were involved in a road traffic collision, with a significant 999 response.
The biker sustained significant injuries. His family are aware.
The A350 remains closed this morning (Wednesday) for forensic collision investigation work.
The road is expected to reopen in all directions by midday.
Traffic is being diverted via Trowbridge – meaning motorists face delays in the area.
In a statement shortly after the incident, Wiltshire Police said: “The A350, West Ashton is closed following a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist and a car.
“The crossroads are currently closed, along with closures at West Ashton Road (B3105) and Bratton Road.
“The road is closed from the Yarnbrook roundabout to Stoney Gutter.
“Please seek alternative routes while emergency services attend. It is likely the road closures will be in place for some time.”
