UPDATE: Four-vehicle crash at A3102 ‘black spot’ leaves one person injured
A major road near Swindon is gridlocked after a ‘nasty’ crash this afternoon (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A3102 Swindon Road at around 5pm.
The incident, which is blocking the route linking Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett, has caused traffic chaos in the surrounding areas – including Junction 16.
It’s claimed the crash occurred near to the Sally Pussey’s Inn, with one witness describing it as “nasty”. Another said it was a “big smash”.
At least two fire crews are on scene alongside police and the ambulance service. Further details are unknown at this early stage.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A3102 at Sally Pussey’s Inn is currently closed as we are dealing with a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles.
“We are advising drivers to seek alternative routes until the road is cleared.”
