A four-vehicle crash at a A3102 ‘black spot’ has left one person injured.

Emergency services were called to Swindon Road – which links Swindon with Royal Wootton Bassett – shortly before 5pm yesterday (Tuesday, 10 December).

Two fire crews, several ambulances and police attended the multi-vehicle road traffic collision outside The Sally Pussey’s Inn.

Four vehicles, including two cars and a van, were involved in the incident – which resulted in the major route being closed or partially blocked for around three hours.

One person was taken to hospital with injuries, but nobody sustained any serious wounds.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We responded to a crash involving four vehicles on the A3102 just before 5pm yesterday (11/12).

“There were no serious injuries and the road was reopened by 8.15pm.”

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 16:56hrs on Tuesday 10 December to a road traffic collision near Wootton Basset.

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and two operations officers to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.”
