A major road out of Salisbury is closed after an early hours crash.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A36 southwest of the city at around 2am this morning (Thursday).
Further details about the incident are unknown, but 999 crews and National Highways officers remain on scene.
The busy route is blocked between A338 Churchhill Way South and the A27 at Whiteparish southbound. One lane is also closed northbound.
The closure is causing significant traffic delays across Salisbury – including on the A338 southbouth towards Ringwood.
In a statement, National Highways said: “The A36 in Wiltshire is closed southbound between the A338 near (Salisbury) and A27 near (White Parish) for emergency barrier repairs following a collision earlier this morning.
“Lane 2 is also closed on the northbound carriageway.”
