A main road through Devizes has been closed following a serious collision.
Emergency services are currently attending the scene in London Road, near the Travelodge, after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at around 3.40pm.
Police have shut the road in both directions.
UPDATE 4.45PM: A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 3.40pm today (11/01) to a road traffic collision on London Road, in Devizes.
“The collision involved a female pedestrian and a black Ford car.
“The pedestrian is not believed to have been seriously injured but has been taken to Great Western Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
“A section of the road was closed for a short time but has now reopened.”
The driver of the car involved remained at the scene following the collision, and no arrests have been made.
