A driver escaped serious injuries after flipping her BMW in Swindon today.

It happened on Eldene Drive, near the Thorne Road junction, at just before 1pm this afternoon.

One female casualty, a woman thought to be in her 40s, was taken into an ambulance. A traffic officer at the scene confirmed that she’d not suffered any serious injuries.

It’s not clear whether her choice of footwear – a pair of Crocs – caused the crash.

A lamp post was destroyed in the road traffic collision.

The road fully reopened at 2pm.
