An elderly driver’s been taken to hospital after driving into a house in Calne.
Armed police officers, assisted by the local policing team, were called to the scene at around 2pm this afternoon, following reports of a Vauxhall Corsa crashing into a property.
Wiltshire Police say that the homeowners were in another room of the semi-detached house in Horsebrook Park at the time of the collision, avoid any injuries.
The elderly driver was taken to hospital with suspected arm fractures.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Once in attendance the officer requested that building control also attend to assess the stability of the building.
“The heavy rescue unit from Trowbridge was then mobilised at the request of the officer in order to shore the building up safely. Paratech equipment was used to do this.”
The emergency services remain at the scene this afternoon (4.35pm).
