Many teaching staff across Swindon and Wiltshire are taking their union’s advice and refusing to go into work on Monday 4 January following the Christmas holidays.
It comes after concerns over teachers’ safety working in classrooms with children as COVID-19 cases rise, forcing some schools to close due to insufficient staffing levels.
Most schools will remain open to vulnerable children or children of key workers. To check, refer to the letter issued to parents and guardians, or contact the school directly.
