Four teenagers and a woman have been arrested following a knife attack in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Emergency services were called to help a 15-year-old boy with stab wounds in the Dior Drive at around 4pm yesterday (New Year’s Day).
The boy was treated by paramedics before being rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He remains admitted for treatment.
Wiltshire Police say the stabbing took place in Ruxley Close – which is located approximately 400 metres from where the injured boy was found wounded.
Four teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. A 23-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All five people remain in custody for questioning this morning (Monday).
In a statement, the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Ruxley Close, Royal Wootton Bassett yesterday (01/01) around 4pm.
“A 15-year-old boy has suffered stab wounds, not thought to be life threatening and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.
“Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and people living locally are likely to notice an increased police presence.
