The M4 is blocked following a road traffic collision involving multiple vehicles this evening.
At least four fire engines were witnesses racing to the scene on the hard shoulder while traffic came to a stop prior to the crash on the westbound carriageway between junctions 14 and 15.
Wiltshire 999s understands that a lorry, two vans and a car are involved.
Motorists are being asked to remain in their vehicles during the delays.
A Highways England spokesperson said: “M4 Westbound between J14 Hungerford Newton to J15 Swindon traffic is now stopped at the scene of the collision.
“Please remain with your vehicles if you are caught up in the trapped traffic.”
It is not clear how long the road will remain blocked for.
