Forensics are investigating ‘something in a field’ in Devizes, according to reports.
Police first arrived at the scene at around 3pm this afternoon (8 October), with vehicles – marked and unmarked – parked along Windsor Drive.
Locals have noticed the police presence growing over the past two hours, with crime scene investigation vehicles arriving at the incident.
It’s believed a farmer, who was said to be harvesting crops, discovered something of concern.
‘A farmer seems to have stopped whilst cutting down maise in his field when he came across something’, a local resident told Wiltshire 999s.
Adding: ‘There are many police and unmarked vehicles arriving. They seem to be investigating something in the top corner of the field.’
We have approached Wiltshire Police for comment.
