Smiling alongside his wife and children, these are the first pictures of married family man James Wells, accused of attempting to murder his mother and stepfather in a rural Wiltshire village.
Wells is said to have stabbed his mother, Linda Holford, in the head with a screwdriver at a property in Shalbourne near Marlborough – she remains at Southampton Hospital in a critical condition.
His stepfather Adrian Holford suffered serious injuries during the incident and remains in hospital.
The senior hospitality professional and qualified project manager, of Seymour Road, Lee-on-Solent, Hampshire, is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning – following the incident in Shalbourne near Marlborough on Monday evening – the father-of-two didn’t enter a plea.
His next appearance is at Bristol Crown Court on 1 May. The accused will be remanded in custody.
