Firefighters have freed a teenage girl’s head from a baby swing in Swindon today.

A single fire crew from Westlea attended the scene off Edith New Close, Moredon, at around 3.50pm where they released the 15-year-old from the baby play equipment before having to reassemble it, which subsequently ‘delayed them’.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, which has also dealt with hoax calls today, said the incident was “a real waste of emergency resources”.

Adding that 999 calls like teenagers stuck in baby swings due to their own stupidity “take appliances away from real emergencies”.
