Firefighters have helped a ‘horse in distress’ outside Chippenham Hospital.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service deployed resources to the scene in Rowden Hill at around 8.40am this morning (Wednesday).
A horse had fallen and become stuck within its trailer, sparking rescue operation that lasted more than two hours.
Specially-trained technical rescue firefighters from Stratton Fire Station in Swindon and a crew from Chippenham worked to free the animal from the trailer.
After it had been effectively sedated by a vet, firefighters pulled the horse free.
