Firefighters are battling a blaze behind a hotel in north Swindon this afternoon.
Two crews, from Swindon and Stratton fire stations, are currently at the Premier Inn fire in Turnpike Road — on the Blunsdon Bypass — and have been since 2pm.
Huge plumes of black smoke could be seen as far away at central Swindon.
It appears a structure and bushes behind the hotel that is ablaze — but it’s not clear whether it is in the hotel garden or what started the fire at this stage.
Turnpike Road is cordoned off as firefighters work at the scene.
