Photographs shared by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service have revealed the scale of the task in hand this morning when a lorry overturned.
Emergency services were called to the serious incident on junction 15 of the M4 in Swindon at around 8.30am following reports of the driver was trapped in their cab.
Fire crews from Swindon, Stratton (x2) and Reading attended the scene alongside specially trained Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) paramedics from Bristol.
After a two-hour-long, “complex extraction”, the driver was left in the care of the ambulance service. Their condition is unknown at this time.
The M4 junction remains partially closed, affecting access to the junction westbound.
