A fire has ripped through a Devizes home – with an air ambulance attending the scene.
Emergency services were called to Ferozeshah Road shortly before 7pm on Saturday (18 January).
A property was well alight on arrival, with several fire crews – from Devizes, Calne and Marlborough – battling the blaze for more than six hours.
Two ambulances, an ambulance operations officer and a critical care team from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were also in attendance.
Several police officers were at the incident, with six police vehicles parked up nearby.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) sent an investigator to the scene alongside at least three fire officers.
At the height of the incident, a DWFRS spokesperson warned locals to “keep windows and doors closed as a precaution” due to a the smoke plume.
The flames were extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using one hose reel jet and one main jet. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Wiltshire Police have been approached for comment.
