An ex-police officer ‘flexed his muscles and exposed his bum’ in Trowbridge, a court heard.
53-year-old Aubry Hendy pleaded guilty to causing a young woman harassment, alarm or distress during an incident in the street on 26 August last year.
The victim was driving a car when the defendant appeared in the road wearing only a pair of boxer shorts and a top – and started swearing at her.
On 4 February, crown prosecutor Laura Thomas told Swindon Magistrates’ Court that Hendy made sexualised gestures imitating oral sex and raised a middle finger.
He proceeded to take his top off and flex his muscles, before removing his boxer shorts and exposing his buttocks.
Concerned for her safety, and the safety of her passengers, the woman started reversing her vehicle.
The former police officer, who worked at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary for 18 years, was said to be “ashamed” of his offending – accepting he had an alcohol problem at the time.
District Judge Joanna Dickens told Hendy he “can’t go around behaving like this”.
The defendant, of Langley Road, Trowbridge, was slapped with a 12-month community order. During this time he must complete 12 days of rehabilitation activity with the probation service.
