An elderly couple were left shaken when an object struck their car on the A350.

It’s believed an object was launched off the aqueduct, carrying the Kennet and Avon Canal, over the main route in Melksham.

It happened at around 2pm on 22 August – and caused damage to the car below.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We are appealing for information following an incident on the A350 in Melksham where an object appears to have been thrown from the viaduct carrying the Kennet and Avon Canal – damaging a car travelling beneath.

“The incident, which took place at 2pm on 22 August (22/08) left the elderly driver and passenger of the car shaken but thankfully unhurt.

“Anyone with information about who might be responsible should contact us on 101 quoting log 54220088784.”
