Eight drink or drug drivers have been arrested during a Christmas crackdown overnight.
Hundreds of vehicles were stopped by police officers in the Swindon area, with teams stationed on various busy roads including Croft Road, Transfer Bridges and County Road.
Inspector Gill Hughes said seven people were arrested for drink driving, blowing a sample of between 55-97 when the legal limit is 35 at the roadside.
Another driver was arrested after providing a positive result on the drugs wipe procedure (test).
The operation has been staffed by an equal split of regular and volunteer officers.
A police spokesperson said: “Anyone wishing to report an incident of drink/drug driving you should call Wiltshire Police on 101 and select option 4 for the Drink Drive hotline.”
