A drunk who strangled and threatened a teenage girl has been handed a prison sentence.
61-year-old Guy Skinner, who has previous convictions for violence, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and non-fatal intentional strangulation.
The victim was attacked by the intoxicated defendant in a fit of rage on one occasion in 2022.
At a previous hearing, prosecutor Kate Prince told of how he pushed the youngster over and put his hands around her throat for a few seconds. The incident was later reported to the police.
She sustained injuries in the assault and Skinner made threats towards her.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court earlier this month, the defendant, of Lottage Road, Aldbourne, was jailed for eight months. He must also pay a £187 surcharge.
