Drugs dog brought in after armed police swoop in on car in Swindon

Armed police officers swooped in on a ‘suspicious car’ in a car park in Swindon last night.

At least five firearms vehicles, a dog unit and two local police cars were involved in the stop and search of a the vehicle outside Farmfoods in Whitworth Road at around 9.10pm.

Officers conducted a search of the white Mercedes with the help of a specially trained drugs dog.

Nothing suspect was found and no arrests were made.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson told Wiltshire 999s: “Last night (03/05) at around 9.10pm officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in Whitworth Road, Swindon.

“A full search was carried out and no arrests were made, so the driver was allowed on their way.”
