Police are hunting a fleeing driver after a car overturned in a crash near Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the A4 New Road, at Old Derry Hill, at around 8am this morning (Thursday).
The incident involved a white Hyundai i10 and a black Land Rover-type vehicle, which failed to stop at the scene despite the dramatic smash.
The driver of the Hyundai, a woman, was helped from the wreckage by firefighters – after it had flipped onto its roof – and handed over to an ambulance crew.
She had sustained reportedly minor injuries, and was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment.
Officers are now hunting the driver of the black Land Rover-type vehicle who fled the crash in the immediate aftermath.
Wiltshire Police is appealing for anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to call them on 101 and quote log 45 of today’s date (26 March).
“Enquiries are currently ongoing”, a force spokesperson said.
The road was blocked for approximately two hours – and has since reopened.
