A man has died following a serious collision on the A30 near Tisbury.
The two-vehicle collision happened close to the village of Sutton Mandeville at around 5.20pm yesterday (16/11) and involved a red Honda Jazz and a blue Range Rover Sport.
The driver of the Honda, a 20-year-old man from the Bristol area, was taken to Southampton Hospital but sadly died overnight. His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.
Two passengers in the car, a 19-year-old woman from the Salisbury area and a 20-year-old man from the London area, remain at Southampton Hospital with serious injuries.
A third passenger from the Honda, a 20-year-old man from the London area, and the driver of the Range Rover, a 54-year-old man from Salisbury, were taken to Salisbury District Hospital with less serious injuries.
Emergency services were at the scene for a number of hours to carry out investigation work and the section of road was closed until around 3am.
PC Charlotte Sartin, from Wiltshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit, has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
She said: “We are now carrying out a thorough and detailed investigation into the cause of this collision, and, although we spoke to a number of witnesses at the scene yesterday, we are appealing for anyone else with information to call us.
“We need to speak to anyone who witnessed the actual collision or who saw either car beforehand. We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV footage which may assist our enquiries.”
