A driver has been arrested after a man was ‘pinned against a wall’ in a crash in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to reports of a disorder following a road traffic collision in Deacon Street shortly after 2.30pm on Saturday (11 April).
According to Wiltshire Police, “a vehicle collided with a pedestrian before driving off and colliding with a parked vehicle”.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, told Wiltshire 999s that he sustained muscle pain, cuts and bruises after being pinned against the wall by a Peugeot 308.
The driver of the car then proceeded to drive away, hitting a packed van. It’s claimed that the driver made off on foot – before officers tracked him down to Cambria Place.
The suspect, a man aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of a string of offences including: dangerous driving, drug driving, driving while disqualified, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving without insurance, possession of Class A drugs, and theft.
Following questioning in custody, he was released on bail while the investigation continues.
