A serial domestic abuser who failed to engage with his probation officer has been jailed.
Lee Coombes appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning, where admitted breaching the requirements of his post-sentence supervision.
Probation officer Michelle James said the 32-year-old had attended just one appointment since his release from prison last November.
She spoke of how the defendant was handed a suspended sentence order (SSO) on 27 June 2022 for harassing two different women – both former partners.
After failing to comply with the SSO, he was jailed for 16 weeks.
Two months after his release from that term of imprisonment, he was convicted of breaching a restraining order which was put in place to protect one of the woman. He was jailed for six weeks.
Ms James said Coombes, of Sandleaze in Worton, near Devizes, has “failed to maintain contact” since being released on 25 November.
She told the bench that he is “assessed as a high risk of harm to women in an intimate setting” with two offences of assault also on his record.
Mark Glendenning, defending, said Coombes had “periods of rough sleeping” but reassured the court that he is now living with his dad and has employment as a groundworker.
The magistrates sentenced him to 14 days imprisonment.
