Devizes Rugby Club have paid tribute to member who was ‘killed and buried in a wood’.
Wiltshire man Craig Hurcombe’s disappearance turned to murder last week, after human remains were found in rural Somerset.
A suspect, Michael Bretton, has since been charged with murder and stalking a woman. He has been remanded in custody.

40-year-old rugby player Craig captained teams and was most recently a Vice President at Devizes Rugby Club.
In a tribute, a spokesperson wrote: “The club has been shaken to its core by the devastating loss of one of our own in tragic circumstances.
“Craig Hurcombe, fondly known as ‘Hurcs’, was a long-standing member of the club and represented all senior men’s sides, clocking up hundreds of caps over the years.
“Craig captained and managed teams at all levels within the club and latterly became a Vice President.
“Craig was a much-loved friend, team-mate, and clubman, both on and off the pitch.
“He was always willing to help and put his name forward for any task, born out of his love and passion for the game and for his club.
“Craig made many special friendships and enjoyed trips and tours away with his close friends and team-mates, the most recent being the British Lions tour to Australia last year.
“Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends at this incredibly sad time.
“Craig was taken far too soon and will be sorely missed by all at Devizes Rugby Club, as well as by his wider friends and family.
