Detectives are now leading the search for missing teenager Leah Mullins.

The 14-year-old, who is describe as vulnerable, was last seen in the village of Sherston, near Malmesbury, at about 7.30pm yesterday evening (Friday, 29 December).

A witness claims that Leah got into a “burgundy or dark coloured older estate car” with a male – believed to be aged in his 30s – near The Angel Pub.

Detective Inspector Debbie Hatch said officers are keen to speak to a man walking two small white dogs, who could be a key witness, at the time of her disappearance.

In a new statement, she said: “We are getting increasingly concerned for Leah’s safety. We would urge anyone with information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“We would particularly like to speak to a man who was on Sherston High Street at around the same time Leah is thought to have got into a car.

“If this was you, please do get in touch, as we believe you may have information that could help us.

“We would also appeal to Leah; if you are reading this to get in touch with us straight away. You are not in any trouble. We just want to make sure that you are safe.”

Leah was wearing a pair of blue fleece shorts and a white Bambi t-shirt, and has blonde hair worn loose. She might also be wearing a light brown jumper.

Anyone with information or who knows where Leah is should contact police as a matter of urgency by calling 999 and quoting log 263 of 29 December.
