A woman, aged in her 30s, and a man, aged in his late-teens, were arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance. They have since been bailed.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We are making enquiries at an address in Badcox, Frome, following a sudden death earlier this week.
“The ambulance service called us at approximately 12.35pm on Wednesday to inform us they were responding to a medical emergency, involving a teenage adolescent.
“Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene and our thoughts are with his family.
“A post-mortem into the death has not yet been completed and therefore we are treating the death as unexplained.
“A decision was made to arrest a woman in her 30s and a man in his late-teens on suspicion of administering a noxious substance, to enable us to question them and further our understanding into what happened – both have assisted our enquiries and have been released on bail.”
