Motorists are facing delays as emergency services attend and incident on the M4 in Wiltshire this morning (Monday).
999 crews were called to the scene on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 16 at around 10.15am.
Traffic is currently at a standstill, but further details are unclear. Motorway cameras show tailbacks for several miles.
UPDATE 10.50AM: Wiltshire Police say they are responding to a road traffic collision.
A force spokesperson said: “The M4 is closed eastbound following a collision between junction 17 and 16.
“Traffic is currently being held but we are hoping to open one last as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
