A dad has admitted possessing numerous indecent images and depraved movies.
Colin Martin Yates, 42, pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornographic images at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (7 June).
The defendant, of Basil Close, was caught with eight indecent images of a child – one of which was described as category B (non-penetrative sexual activity) and the seven others were described as being category C images (indecent images not falling within categories A or B).
Kate Prince, prosecuting, said Yates’ vile stash did not include any category A images – which involve penetrative sexual activity.
The extreme pornographic images – made up of 18 movies and one photograph – depicted acts that resulted, or were likely to result, in serious injury to a person’s anus, breasts or genitals.
The images were found on a mobile phone, and were collected by the defendant between 18 December 2017 and 19 November 2020. It’s not clear how the police came to discover them.
The case was adjourned for an all options pre-sentence report to be compiled – but the magistrates warned he may face a prison sentence for this crimes.
Yates, who has no previous convictions, must register as a sex offender by presenting himself at Gablecross Police Station within 72 hours.
He was released on unconditional bail to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 11 July.
