A cyclist has been seriously hurt in a hit-and-run near a roundabout in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a toucan crossing on Great Western Way between 8.40pm and 8.50pm yesterday (Wednesday).
It happened on the approach to Bruce Street Bridges – with the offending vehicle travelling towards the junction from the direction of B&Q.
The cyclist, a woman in her 40s, sustained serious leg injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.
The vehicle which collided with the cyclist failed to stop – and at this time the identity of the vehicle and driver are unknown.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “It is believed that the vehicle involved would have been travelling from the general direction of Bridgemead towards Bruce Street Bridges.
“We have attached two photos of where the collision occurred.
“If anyone witnessed the collision, or has any information regarding the vehicle or driver involved, please contact investigating officer PC 2718 Hobbs of the Roads Policing Unit by calling 101 and quoting reference 54240040937.”
