A crime scene was put in place on a busy Swindon route following a serious incident this morning (Sunday).

Detectives are probing the assault of a male on Marlborough Road, opposite Signal Way, at around 5.30am.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries following an attack. Though police say his injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

At 9.30am, police officers were guarding the pavement outside two homes – which was taped off.
