UPDATE:Teenage girl killed in Wiltshire crash as 18-year-old man arrested
A country road near Royal Wootton Bassett is shut after a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision just outside Bushton shortly before 10pm yesterday (Thursday, 29 August).
The incident happened on an unnamed road between Withy Bed and Hilmarton. At least one person has sustained significant injuries; further details are unknown at this stage.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the scene, and it’s understood Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were also tasked but were stood down en route over Trowbridge.
The road is expected to remain closed until this afternoon (Friday).
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware of a closure in place on the rural road near Bushton from Withy Bed crossroads to the crossroads south west of this junction (w3w mint.corrupted.inquest)
“This is due to a serious road traffic collision.
“The route is likely to be closed for a substantial period to allow emergency services to attend.
“Please use alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
