A Corsham man has been banned from contact with his girlfriend after an incident.
Police investigating alleged abuse made an application for a domestic violence protection order (DVPO) at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).
Connor Wilcox was recently arrested in connection with the domestic abuse of his girlfriend, but he has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
The court was told that the alleged victim has moved into her mother’s address while efforts are made to find her and her newborn baby a home of their own.
Wiltshire Police asked the magistrates to impose a DVPO because it would assist the housing process, and prohibit the respondent from making contact.
26-year-old Wilcox, of Pickwick Villas, Corsham, did not attend court to contest the order. Magistrates granted it for 28 days.
The terms of the DVPO include that he cannot have contact directly or indirectly with the alleged victim or go within 100 metres of her mother’s address.
Wilcox’s bail conditions also prohibit him from having contact with the woman.
