‘Corrupt police are trying to kill off car meets in Wiltshire’, organisers have claimed.
Ahead of yet another unauthorised event planned for tonight (Saturday), Wiltshire Car Scene have issued a warning to members of their community.
In a statement posted on social media, car ‘enthusiasts’ were told of so-called corrupt officers – but said they will “stand out ground together”.
Wiltshire Car Scene previously said it was working with Wiltshire Police, but has changed its tune since officers arrested numerous members of their group.
After Wiltshire 999s published images of a driver appearing to hit 180mph on the M4 following a car meet in Chippenham on Boxing Day, a man from Swindon was arrested.
A man, from Didcot, was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after police officers were forced to bin their uniforms when they were sprayed with a pungent substance.
The force also published the faces of two suspects believed to have been involved in the damage of a police vehicle at a car meet in Swindon back in September.
The full statement from Wiltshire Car Scene reads: “So police really are trying to kill off the car scene. We have our rights and we will stand our ground together as a community.
“Alot (sic) of officers lately have been corrupt so be careful. Anyone being pulled over and harrassed (sic) make sure you record them for your safety. Will see you all tonight.”
