A Cirencester man has been denied bail at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning after being charged with attempting kidnap a child at the weekend.
Alexander Benfield, 24, from Lawrence Road appeared before magistrates this morning, where his solicitor made a bail application. It was refused.
He was charged with attempted kidnapping and actual bodily harm following an incident where a nine-year-old girl was grabbed by a man in the Park Place area of Ashton Keynes.
The case was sent to Swindon Crown Court and Benfield was remanded in custody.
