A Chippenham man could be jailed for inflicting serious injuries on his puppy.
Kieren Holford pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 11 July.
The 20-year-old admitted physical abusing his female sprocker-type dog, Daisy, by inflicting blunt force trauma injuries on her at his home in Roman Way.

According to court documents, the incident happened on 6 December 2024.
Daisy has since died, however, it has not been confirmed if it was as a result of the injuries sustained.
The magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report to find out more about the defendant ahead of sentencing.
The case adjourned until 21 August. Holford was released on unconditional bail.
For the offence of causing unnecessary suffering, Section 4 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006, carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years.
