A Chippenham man has pleaded guilty to the repeated rape of a child.
Alan Thursby, 23, appeared before Swindon Crown Court this morning where he admitted charges of rape of a child under the age of 13 and rape.
Crown prosecutor Tessa Hingston said the defendant, of Royal Close, raped the young girl on at least 20 occasions over many years – beginning in 2014.
Judge Jason Taylor QC told Thursby to expect a lengthy jail term. He ordered a pre-sentence report and psychiatric assessment.
He was given conditional bail ahead of sentencing at Swindon Crown Court on 18 June.
