A lorry has collided with a bridge on a busy A-road in Wiltshire.
There is traffic chaos in Salisbury this morning (Friday) following a road traffic collision on A30 London Road at around 8.30am.
The incident has blocked the road between Hampton Park Roundabout and the A388 in both directions.
Police are understood to be on scene – but the route could remain shut for several hours.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “[We] are at a bridge strike on the A30 London road near to Laverstock.
“The road will be blocked for some time. Drivers are advised to seek other routes.
“The driver of the HGV is ok but will leave with paperwork and a fine for careless driving.”
Motorists face significant delays in the area as traffic builds.
