UPDATE: Swindon cyclist seriously hurt in ‘hit-and-run robbery’ as two arrests made
A road in Swindon has been closed by police after a serious road traffic collision today (Thursday).
Emergency services, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were called to the scene in Meadowcroft, off Beechcroft Road, at around 2pm.
A casualty — believed to be a man — was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, a major trauma centre, for urgent treatment.
A crime scene was in place as specialist roads policing officers carried out a short investigation. It reopened shortly before 4.30pm.
Anybody who witnessed the incident is asked to call Wiltshire Police as a matter of urgency, quoting log 139 of today (16 March).
