UPDATE: Missing man found following early morning water rescue mission in Swindon lake
Specialist water rescue firefighters have mounted a major operation at a lake in Swindon tonight, after a person was reported missing.
A number of fire engines, fire support vehicles, ambulance incident response vans and Hazardous Area Response Teams at the scene on East Wichel Way.
Police and paramedics are also searching the canal off Sunnyside Avenue, Kingshill, and Redpost Drive. Residents reported more than six police cars raced to the scene at 11.30pm.
At 1.20am, firefighters were still on scene at the lake in East Wichel, but the search at of the canal off Kingshill had finished.
