A body pulled from a river is believed to be that of a man missing since 2023.
Thames Valley Police were called to the water in the Hambridge area of Newbury on Wednesday (23 July) following reports of a person in the water.
The force think it’s that of Dean Hill, a 34-year-old man reported missing in November 2023.
While his family have been informed, formal identification has not yet taken place.
Detective Inspector Stuart Streeter, said: “Sadly following calls from a member of the public, officers have recovered a body from the water, which we believe is missing man Dean.
“Our thoughts remain with the family of Mr Hill, who have been informed of the discovery.
“At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and the coroner has been informed.”
