A man is in a serious condition in hospital following a Christmas Day attack in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the scene in in Canal Walk, in the town centre, at around 1am this morning after receiving reports of an assault in the Wharf Green area.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was found with head injuries and is currently in a serious condition.
A 31-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A scene cordon is in place and the investigation is ongoing, led by Detectives from CID Swindon.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to members of the public.”
